I don't mind a dirt stretch, just don't like unexpectedly coming across dirt on top of pavement. I notice quite a few on the forum that don't ride in the rain, let-alone on dirt. That's ok, I like optimal conditions too, just don't like staying home all the time.
Yeah, I did alot of playing in the dirt back in the 60's.Dirt riding experienceshould be a requirement for anyonewanting to own a motorcycle.
I second that. Pushing youself to and beyond your control limits makes your sense of control more keen. With that being said, I do try to avoid dirt and especially gravel when riding my bagger, but I do not get palpatations if I have to.
Dirt bikesand dirt riding was probably about 90-95% of my ridingfrom 1969 until last November when I bought my first HD (The HD is my first real street bike, actually). The remaining %of my riding would be around town or down a county road on my way to the next trail. That would be the 30+ dirt bikes and over 100,000 dirt miles. Love it. Haven't indulged as often the past couple years as I have in the past... but still love it.
I have no desire whatsoever to take my Deuce out on dirt or dirtroads. None. I know all too well what dirt riding does to a bike, and I want to avoid that like the plague in regards to the Deuce.
