Default Do I need a signal light load equalizer?

I have a 1989 flhs that has automatic turn signal cancellers. I am replacing the rear fender as well as tail light/turn signals. I am replacing them with a rick doss ledtombstone taillight with led bullet signals. I have read up on one (badlands) the model they say is for my bike/year also says its for bikes without signal cancellers. Any ideas on what to use or do I need to? I have never ran led lights before. Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thanks, Brad

My bike is newer, but this might apply. I have incandescent rear turn signals and brake lights. I have the brake light conversion kit on the rear lights. Recently installed LED signal mirrors and removed the front bullets. I've read a load equalizer is often required but that wasn't the case for my bike. You can tell by hitting the turn signals and watching the flash rate. Mine are normal without any load balancer. You can try it and see and then buy a load balancer if you need it. No harm to the system; just rapid flashing.

Good luck!

I have LED lamps. I used to have the signals in the mirrors and doing that alone, I didn't need the equalizer. However, when I switched out the rear sigs and taillight, I did need one. I suggest getting one. You can throw in some LED bulbs in the front while you're at it. I bought mine at the local indy shop for about $75 which allows for variations in sigs on full time or not, flashes brake light 3 timesthen steady when brake is applied, and works with self cancel system.
