After riding almost 25 years without them, I have decided to put bags on my Lowrider. Anyone have any advise about bolt on versus detachable? I end up getting caught in rain a lot but ampretty **** about keeping it clean. Will it be a pain in the *** to unbolt them to clean them and the bike, or should I spend the extra cash and get the easy off ones?
thanks
Well Ive got Iron bags on my bike and there are bolt on. There are only 3 bolts that hold them on and it only takes a few minutes to take them off for cleaning. On my last bike I had Boss Bags with the quick detach system and I never took them off. So its not something that I needed or really even wanted.
Sounds like its time for an addition to your Harley family. Might I suggest the Road King? Spacious, but a bit sporty, plenty of cargo and lots of motor.....yup, you need another one.
I'm 5'7" and I love mine. Trust me, the wife will let it slide. Especially when she gets on the back. If you get the RK, you can slap some Heratige bars and have all the reach you need! You'll love it I PROMISE!
I have the Boss Bags and they are easy to take on and off and are also lockable with a padlock. I usually leave mine on till I clean it then run around without bags for a day or two and put them right back on, it's nice to be able to carry a few things.
