What product is best for getting out small scratches? I seem to have a lot of them on my tank and fenders,I have had the bike for a month and it seems like everytime I look at it a newone appears.
Go to the auto parts store and get some light buffing compound. It'll be a lot like wax. Rub on, wipe off. Use a bit of elbow grease and then be more carefull next time. Noname
Meguiars Swirl Remover. I use it every other weekby hand(only have the tank ) and then Meguiars wax. Keeps the clear coat looking like a mirror. If your scratches are too big or deep, get yourself a Sears or other 7" buffer, they are only $30-$40. IF you go with a heavier cut poishing compound, look on the side of the container, they give you a scale, similar to a thermometer , I use the lightest cut for the project. Practice on Momma's car first. Hard to"burn" the paint with Swirl remover, but you can. GUMBY
I use a mild polishing compound with what's called a 1 1/2" mushroom polishing bit on a battery operated drill set at medium speed. Put a little polish on the mushroom head and buff lightly. Reapply the polish after about 20 seconds and buff untill the scratches are gone. By hand is long and tedius. I throw away the bit after used. They cost about $3 each.
