Then there must be some symbolism to it. Can't remember where I was that I saw this. May have been at a biker watering hole or at a dealership, but some guy was wearing spurs, not just one either, and I remember rolling my eyes about it. It does seem like posing to me but then I'm just probably being snobbish because I actually do ride horses too. Each to their own. Just another peacock.

Back when I was a youngster and rodeoing I could only afford one good pair of boots. We alwayshadto secure spurs around the heel and bottom of the sole with wire and it was such a pain to do that we ended up wearing them all weekend everywhere we went. It was kinda goofy looking back on it, but going to the rodeo dance with your number tucked in your back pocket and spurs jingling did attract the attention of the local girls participating in the catch and release program.
I'm not sure about ever wearing them on a bike, I'd be scared of hiking my leg over and catching it on something and causing damage or it getting caught and making me loose my balance and falling. Thats impressive... ride up and shutting down in front of a bunch of bikers and as you get off your spur hangs up on the seat and you fall on your ***. I'm curious, is the single spur wearer only wearingit on the left boot? Maybe thats why thatguy said one was cool. But just like with Chuck Norris wearing that stupid duster, I dont think I would ever say anything. To each his own.
As an afterthought...in a pinch a spur can make a good weapon. If it's not wired on you boot, otherwise you have to take your whole boot off to use. Don't ask me how I know

Are you kidding..spurswere the sh*t back in the day! I don't wear them any more but back in the late 70's and early 80's whe I was cocky and out of line, I wore one as did a bunch of other guys I rode with and for the most part it was a club thing. The reason I say they were the sh*t was because cruising down a back road after midnite you could lay down a swath of sparkage. I never felt I was thinking I was trying to impress anyone. At that time we mostly stayed amoungst ourselves and frequented established "house freindly" joints and places like our club house and other clubs bars. As my taste in bikes have transitioned so to has my apparel. Now I wear 2 spurs and a*sless chaps and a bigTex Rittercowboy hat. Not really. Nothing against any of that just not me.

Got to be the horse thing. Steel horse. Gitty up.
NICE RIDE, phat. Stuff a 124" and a 6 spd in ti, will take it!!! Cubed, slammed, and painted, don't git ANY better than that. Bag extensions and fillers, Just love to stop at Brian's shop (Klockwerks) when I am out home. They roll some "nice" baggers out the door.

Spurs - have a beautiful set of sterling ones that my uncle gave me when I was 13 (South Dakota Shitheel ) Naw, don't wear them on the chop, they would get all tangled in the fwd controls.
But it is "definitely" a cowboy thing, steel horse or realhorse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k99h5aikc4g (CRANK IT )

I'm surprised noone mentioned this but back in the day guys wore a spur on their left footto change gears without having to move there foot back to the mid controls, while their foot was on the highway bar peg they would hang the gear shift lever with the spur and could shift it up or down. Thats how it was explained and demonstrated to me by some greybeards that worked at the indy shop I hung out at, I'm sure at some point guys started wearing them just cause they thought it was cool.

Two spurs? Kinky girlfriend maybe? Going home to abuse Trigger? If its not what I already mentioned--than its got to be that he is just strange. Some people are just weird.
