I use simple green for some stuff, but for me it doesn't compare to s100. I cut my S100 down to about 33% with water. Spray it on a cool bike, rinse it well, and use my metro blaster to blow the water off. Makes it really painless to keep my ride clean.
I have been using a product put out by Honda that is supposed to be the "same thing" before I knew about S100.
I know the Honda brabd stuff works excelent! Wipe it on EVERYTHING and polish off. Easier than wax with just as good results, and it is UV protective.
I agree with Ripsnortr- the Honda Brite works great and is cheaper with more in the bottle. Only complaint I have heard about Honda Brite or S 100 is it conducts static so lint and dust jump onto the bike. I have not noticed this because I live on a gravel road. My $hit is always dusty by the time i get anywhere.
the Army won't let us use Simple Green on aircraft. highly corrosive. same for S100, you can smell the acid in it. if you do use it, be sure to rinse immediately. the Army uses Dawn dish detergent and is very effective on grease.
I use this stuff about 3 times a year to degrease the bike. It does a great job but spray it on and hose it off don't let it sit very long. I detail my bike after I use it though.
Normally I use distilled water and a microfiber cloth to clean my bike. Wet a cotton rag with the distilled water and wipe down a portion of the bike and polish it with the microfiber cloth. No water spots with distilled water.

I use a product called Awesome. My brother in law who works for a army type facility making tank shell casings turned me on to this product. You buy it at most dollar stores. It is the best de greaser I have ever used. I dont and wont recommend it on the painted surfaces because I have not used it there. But let me tell you the wife will also love it. It puts 409 to shame and most products. I use on my rims and the bottom end of the bike, also do my truck tires with it. It costs a dollara spray bottle, I always have at least 6-8 bottles around the house. Try it you will be amazed on how well it works . Remember it is called AWESOME
