My local dealers treat me well. They have people working the parts counters that know what they're selling and can tell you pretty quickly if something is in stock or not. My favorite dealer is a smaller, non-neon glitz dealership but very friendly and helpful people. They don't always have what I need, but the orders come in quick, usually less than a week. If there is something that they don't have and I for whatever reason have to have it sooner, I'll buy it elsewhere, but for the most part I go where I think my parts money is well spent. Besides, 15% off every day is not a bad thing, 20% off one night a month.

I've seen dealers called "stealers" and "stealerships" Why is it suddenly so wrong? I too have had the STEALERSHIP make mistakes that were easily avoidable. They scratched a derby cover REALLY bad. It was soooo bad there is NO way the tech didn't know it. Yet they just give me the bike and send me on my way. They made right, of course. Still, was it honest? Not initially. Fortunately I've learned cooler heads usually prevail.

Its not even the dealership so much per say but its opening up a box that is sealed from the factory and expecting it to be RIGHT. I ended up going through 3 sets of black fork uppers and 2 sets of black fork lowers before I got a complete set with a new looking unblemished, uncracked finish. Just as youd expect from new parts sealed in a box. As for whining because someone called the dealership a stealership, you better start yelling at everyone else on the forum because its a pretty common nickname.

Yeah, that Chinese quality control really sux these days. Must be all that lead is affecting them.

What I like is when you get a sealed shrink wrapped package that is missing pieces. How do they do that?

In my experience with all motorcycle and car dealerships including all parts houses, no - they are never right the first time.Never, never, never. There are exceptions, but this is without exception.

I remember as a kid getting a wagon from Sears, and it was missing a couple of essential screws, it must be a tradition. And this was before China made everything.
