I was at a Harley show last Saturday here in Montreal Canada. Lots of bikes , lots of girls, was very nice. Thshow concluded when they had a Quebec racing legend ( Yvon Duhamel) do a burnout on stage with a Destroyer on loan by a local dealership. What an awsome looking bike. what a sound. Too bad they cut him off a bit early but I guess for the price of the sled i guesss the dealer did not want to take a chance. The next guy was on a Buell racer and he smoked up the whole place.
On a seperate matter, this Is my first Harley so the scene Is all new to me and especially to my wife. Had her worried when at the door they seperated the men from theladies and patted us down for weapons, sure wish I had a camera to capture her look.
I have been to a lot of Harley events and was never patted down. The only time I had to go through a metal detector was for the Harley York Plant Tour, and they let you know about it well ahead of time.
If I had to be patted down before entering an event, I'd turn around and leave. I have other places to spend my time and money.

RE: V-Rod Destroyer
Got patted down at the Hundred Year Annaversery Party and a bunch of other bike shows. It has gotten worse here in the south-west ever since the shootings in Laughlin Nv. at the River Run. Don't carry a pocket knife to shows anymore. Keep waiting for them to ban wallet chains! Oh Well, the price you pay to have fun.
Had some stupid rent-a-cop tell me I couldn't go into a casino because of my 'colors'....I was wearing a Harley Davidson vest, along with a gazillion others! Guess I look like a trouble maker.
Couple years ago I went to a little resort town in north GA, went into the most popular nightclub (which has always been freindly to bikers) paid my cover and was TOLD to remove my dorag and vest. I'm pretty sure the dude got a nasty paper cut as the bills were removed from his hand, and I politely informed him that I had planned on spending a buttload of money in there, too bad!
Hell, I got searched at a Hank Williams Jr. Concert in Topeka,Ks that was going on in conjunction with the HOG Rally in 1994. Me and my friends had to take our pocket knives back to our bikes.
