Just brought a electra glide classic. Want some feedback on the cable less electronic throttle control. Like, don't like, problems. just some general feedback. Haven't riden it yet.
Welcome, You'll get a few different answers to your question. One will be from people like me that have had no problems with it and think it works just fine. You'll have some that don't own one with TBW but still thinks it's one of the worst things HD has ever done [along with ABS and FI]. And some that have 07's that are still mad HD didn't fix there bike so they take every chance to cut down the 08's. There's even one guy that posts under different names to tell how dangerous the TBW is. TBW is not new it's been around on cars and other bikes for years. Some people have had idle problems and there may be something to it but most of the opinions are just that, just like mine What I would do if I were you is go ride. Again welcome to the forum and don't believe everything you read.

RE: Electronic throttle control
I just bought an 08 E-Glide in December. The TBW feels a bit 'different', not bad or good, just a little different. Have had no problems at all. Like when I changed from my old Springer to the Dyna. Felt 'different'.
One slight 'inconvenience', no one is making replacement handle bars YET. The dealers tell me that replacement bars for cabled throttles won't work, but that will remedy itself soon enough.
Some dealers ARE doing the handlebar changes, like the one close to me (Downtown Harley in Seattle). They just took my new Flanders 14" buckhorns and cut the notches in them. I bought the Nostalgic grips that work with 08 touring bikes and they put them on. I also had the added issue of ABS. So they bought a longer hydraulic line from an nearby hydraulic cable manufacturer, and all is good. I've got about 2800 miles on it so far. I DID have a throttle sticking problem riding it right after they did the handlebar job... took it back in, and they said that grip had been placed too far up and was misaligning the throttle cable in the notches.... whatever. It's fine so far, but the accounts of it accelerating and causing fatal accidents has me a little worried.
