It's hardfor me (and anyone else that likes to make informed statements - not many of those types online) tosay anything about the sentence without knowing the details of the case.
There were a few people who posted they were ready to string up this guy without knowing all the facts. Unfortunately, the media only gives us their spin on things. Who knows? This guy could have suffered a medical condition that caused him to lose control of his vehicle.
Don't get me wrong... I feel terrible for the victims' families and friends. And, being in Canada, I know all too well how lax the judicial system can be in handing out sentences. But before we hang this guy from the nearest tree, let's be sure we have all the facts and circumstances.

yes we have to ban together. but with some riders today i dont see it happening.i have been around bikes all my life and it used to be a brother hood that was tight. today you have people look down because what you ride or you are not in the click or they think you are a poser or a newbie. but what ever the case may be and that is what the man wants . and if we dont get our heads out of are a----. we will lose in the long run.we are getting killed left and right by stupid people and something should be and can be done .but only if we stick together and fight the system together.
I've been riding motorcycles most every day since
1960. The one thing that has never changed is the
fact that if you are on a motorcycle and have a wreck
that involes a car when the Police and EMT's get there
you are the last one they will look at. The car people
are the #1 priority, the motorcycle rider is only an
after thought!
In close to 2 million miles of riding motorcycles I've
been in a few wrecks and been on scene of countless
motorcycle wrecks. Motorcycle ridershave always
been treated with less respect then car drivers by
our public service people.
As for sticking together" Back in the day when "REAL"
BAD AZZ's rode motorcycles (1%ers) They would not
stick together with the regular motorcycists.
Now days the Mr. Dress Up Wanna Be Bad Azz bikers
that play bad azz bikers once in a while when they
feel like it won't stick together with regular motorcyclists.
Bikers/Motorcyclists will probably never totally stick
together to do anything ever.
But one thing you can say about the 60's and 70's.
All motorcycle riders treated broke down motorcyclists
as Brothers and they took good care of each other. No
one (1%ers) or regular motorcyclists wouldride by
another motorcycle Brother in need!
Todaymost won't give each other a second look if
one is broke down! [:'(][&o]
Times are a changing, but not for the better!
Biker lives come cheap in Louisiana.
The guy who nearly killed me didn't even get a ticket. The girl who killed my friend Steve got a ticket for running a stop sign.

As long as we have Liberal's in the system we will continue to focus on the poor, misguided people who's life is the fault of the "villiage". What happened to everybody being responsible for their own actions/words? Everybody who rides, regardless of his/her bike, is a brother/sister in my opinion. Start being vocal in public as well as in the privacy of your homes.

I hear you liberals refuse to look at the root cause of a problem, they only want more of MY $$ to throw at a symptom.
In the State of Washington, if you hit someone, whether in a car, on a motorcycle, on a bicycle, on foot, and you kill that person it is Vehicular Homicide. If you injure them its Vehicular Assult. Looks nice on paper but the real problem in this state is the sentincing guidelines. In some instances they really SUCK. Seems to me if the Feds REALLY want to regulate something that would make a difference, maybe they should regulate Sentencing Guidelines from state to state.

On July 3rd 1988 two of my friends on their Goldwing
and my wife and I on our Goldwing were hit head on
by a (6 time DWI) DRUNK DRIVER going 117MPH in
his Pick Up truck. Our two friends died instantly at the
scene (I had to tell their 2 kids their Mom & Dad were
never coming home again) My wife died about one
year later due to the wreck.
At the crash site the Police,Fire men and EMT's went
straight to what was left of the Pick Up truck and never
gave my wife, myself or our friends a second look till
they had the DRUNK DRIVER out of the truck [:@]
Then the lawyers for the DRUNK DRIVER made all of
our lives a living hell after the wreck for months! [&o]
He's back out on the road with a hand slap!! [:@]
A 6 time DWI driver that has killed 3 people has more
rights then anyone on a motorcycle!!
This is just sick" and totally wrong (but true facts) [:'(]
This was in IL. so it happens everywhere. I could
tell you more cases just like this I've seen in over
40 years and about 2 million miles of riding
motorcycles, but I think we all know theres more
of these stories without me posting more..

the sad thing is its not going to get any better... unless ALL bikers join a Motorcycle Rights Organization, AMA, MMA, and others who are able to get our collective voices heard! call your state reps, email, show up at their offices and let them know WE HAVE RIGHTS, AND WE WILL BE HEARD!
