PHog,

Wow, I hope there is not going to be a quiz later. As you probably know, I'm an LEO. The laws here in the US vary from state to state. In Illinois (where I'm from) it averages out to 3 moving violations equal a loss of licnese for a period of 3 months. DUI and serious traffic offenses will cause an immediate loss of license depending on the outcome of the DUI.

Here is a couple that surprise a lot of people. Passing a school bus that has it's flashing lights on is an immediate loss of license and riding or driving out of classification (riding a motorcycle with out a motorcycle endorsement) is also an immediate loss of license.

There are tons of other laws but once you get your second ticket in a twelve month period you better slow down and watch yourself.

Hope this answers a few of your questions. I'm sure you will get a lot of other info from other states.

hi Lev

He wasnt a biker though ! Did you see the car driver who was speeding as much as the two motorcyclists and he was using a phone ? the bikers got prison sentences the car driver got fined and banned !

Bit of predjudice here or what ?

Next time I get caught we ought to state that we were familarising our selves with the machine just like the copper doing 150mph on the M54 !!!!! I hope this time round after the appeal the B**tard gets done

I can tell you about Ape hangers in Sturgis S. D. $80. fine if the bars are above your shoulders. I got 3 in 2 days. Oh yea, you pay cash on the spot. They don't care what the law says in N. C. where they are legal and where I'm inspected, registered, taxed, licensed and insured. Another thing, I'm a slow learner.

If a Harley is doing 90 on the highway and no one is around, is it speeding?

It's only speeding if you get caught. [:@][&:]

Here are the points for Ontario. Of course there are fines associated with them as well. There is reciprocity with most of the states too, I believe, so you can <<earn>> points while on vacation. A driver begins with zero demerit points and accumulates demerit points for convictions.

Demerit points stay on your record for two years from the offence date. If you collect enough points, you can lose your driver's licence.
