I'm new to this forum. Myself and my wife are looking into getting some bikes again.
She would like to go 1200 Sportser and I don't know what to go with. I'm 6'2" 285 lbs. so I'm going to need a bigger bike but NOT a FULL DRESSER! Honestley I'm torn between the Raider S and something along the lines of a Fatboy. I seen and sat on alot of Harleys and nothing really fit me good until I seen a bike that I thought was Harley at first and then found out it was a Star Raider S. I sat on it and it fit me like a glove. But...... I was or am one of those guys that said OH there goes another Harley wannabe bike. What are your guys opinions of this? Pros and Cons of both bikes and why? I heard that I'm just paying for the name if I go Harley and be ready to spend some $$$$ HD stands for Hundred Dollars I was told. Seriously I need advice from you all. Thanks.
I think the sporty is a good choice for the wife. I would like to suggest the wide glide for you, HD's longest bike. As far as other brands, i own 3 bikes, 2 are not HD and all i can say is if you go with anything other than HD you'll probably regret it later on.
Well you're posting on a Harley forum so most of us are going to say Harley. I had several Hondas and they're excellent bikes. I love my Harleys but they are expensive to own and operate. Most Harleys you also have to spend some money to make them fit right - replace the seat, replace the handlebars, etc although my Heritage so far seems perfect stock. If you like the metric bike better go with it. Don't worry what others think.
If you THINK you may want a Harley later........
get your self a Road king or Electra glide classic (tour packs
can be added later if needed).
You are done!
Yamaha 'stars' are a good option........
but not quite a Harley.
At 6' 2" 285lbs..........you don't need to be on a Sporty with a
passenger.
Very hard to read what is written with the avatar so close. I think I have read it a dozen times and I am not at all sure what I just read. I will try again. I think this is a test!
