i didn't keep my "drifter" long. pulled my head all over like a parachute. i have been riding for two years now with an NXT from NEXL. weighs just over a pound and is very compact.

I'd rather look like a mushroom on my bike than a vegetable in a hospital bed. Which is to say I don't give a f#ck how the helmet looks as long as it protects my head. Anyway, my assless chaps, fingerless gloves, three foot fringe, and huge rainbow patch on my jacket already make me look pretty cool.

Here are my comparison pics:

First, my Voss novelty half helmet. I don't wear this one anymore since NC is cracking down on DOT.

Next, my Fulmer Trooper DOT half. Heavy, but very comfortable. Don't wear it much due to the shroom effect.

Lastly, my ACC gloss black DOT half. I wear this one the most. It's certainly not as comfortable as the Fulmer, but it is tolerable.

I also have this one for cold weather and rain, but no pics of me wearing it.

I have an ACC and a HCI. I like the ACC best, sometimes I forget I am wearing it.

I wouldn't worry about the look, at least as long as you are wearing the bunny shirt.

When I see other people wearing DOT half-helmets, I don't really think they look stupid of have the shroom effect. But when I put one on and look at myself in the mirror, I think I look stupid.

Conclusion - I don't think others think you look stupid. I think it's the person wearing it that thinks they look stupid, but nobody else gives a rats azz.

I don't normally wear a helmet. But the wife and I both have the Vega half-helmets and they seem fine? Not sure. Never owned any others to compare.

Well,

I've got a Bell Drifter that I'll sell somebody....I got it because I thought the waiting time for an ACC was gonna be two or three months and it wasn't so I only wore it two or three times before the ACC came in. It doesn't have any grease or cooties.......my old helmet I was wearing was a white oneand it was justtoo much of a fashion clash with a black bike ya know...........
