Default RE: The trying girlfriend

I've been street riding since I was 19. I guess I originally got in to it simply because I thought it was way cooler than driving around in a car. (literally so in the winter!! lol) As time went by I met my wife, who soon became my co-pilot. She logged thousands of kms on the back seat of my various bikes. About 7 years ago I was trying to convince her it was time for me to buy a different bike (without selling the one I already had...), and through out the idea of her getting her licence, to make having two bikes in the family halfway sensible. She took the bait. As I was a motorcycle safety instructor at the time, I was able to get her loaded on a course at a substantially reduced rate. She was the only one in her group of 5 to pass the course, and was quite proud of herself. I was nervous the first couple of years she was riding, mainly because I was worried something would happen to her, which made me almost regret having suggested she get her licence to begin with. I finally realized that if we were truly going to enjoy riding together, I had to relax, and trust her, and just hope that some cager didn't take her out before her skills were up to par. Last summer we did a bike trip together, to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. (we'd done our honeymoon two up on the bike I had at the time...) We had a fantastic time. She really proved to me she'd become a great rider on her own account. It was a shared experience, and yet still something unique for both of us. Something I doubt we'd have been able to duplicate in a car or minivan. While we both use our bikes for commuting during the riding season, which saves on gas (a BIG bonus with the prices nowadays!), it is also a great way to get out and blow off some steam, or just relieve stress. You should consider taking a MSF course yourself. You might just catch the bug. Good on you though for at least being willing to look at it. A lot of girlfriends/wives "forbid" riding. There is NO better way to keep the marital bonds alive! Good luck to both of you.

Welcome to the forum, Danni. The Fact that you care enough to join this venue to learn more about something that obviously is very important to you fiancé tells me that every thing will, in all likelihood, work out just fine. Hopefully, you will grow to love it as it is more than just a wonderful sport that the two of you can enjoy together, it can be a great lifestyle…then watch him **** and moan about having to pay for another bike and how he should have just kept his mouth shut and left well enough alone!

I'm not going to get philosophical, because as someone else said, I noticed you have 3 identical posts in 3 different threads...sounds more like trolling than anything else to me...IMO

Go buy one and then you'll understand. There are alot of chicks that ride on this forum and quite frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing that smile of yours unveil itself from under a helmet after
a long ride!

Well, it becomes a part of who you are and this is not a guy thing! There is a lady in our local HOG chapter who told her fiancĂŠ that him riding was a prerequisite to them getting married. She bought him a Harley over the internet before the marriage.
