takes about 5 minutes.
Look underneath them. Other than being careful with the brake switch and loosening the clutch cable, there is really nothing to it.

You will need a set of snap ring pliers, and two small crescent wrenches and or open end wrenches, and it is a good idea to go ahead and replace the snap rings during this process, (sometimes they get a little tweaked during removal) they only cost about .25 cents apiece. Also this is a good time to lube your clutch cable. The brake is simple, for the clutch if it is currently adjusted well, you can mark the adjuster before you loosen it all the way, replace the handle, then re-adjust the cable to the place you marked it.[8D]

So once the snap ring is removed, does the pin going through come right out??Sorry I am a rookie.

Yes, it may take a little tapping from the bottom with a small screwdriver or punch and a small hammer, but it should come out easily. Loosen the clutch cable before this step.

They are easy. I just did them on my 2007 1200. I had to take the right hand switch housing loose to get the brake lever out but you may not have to on yours. The clutch cable can be trying but the above advice should help. The chrome looks sooooo much better than the dull aluminum ones!!! Good luck!

Being careful with the switch should not be glossed over. The brake light switch sticks out of the end of the master cylinder, and is covered by a rubber boot. It is easy to get it cocked in the hole or move the boot out of place. Other than that, I agree with the others.

There pretty easy to do. Just follow what the others have said, and cut a small square of cardboard and put it between the brake lever and the switch so you wont lose it. I did it and I am a computer technician, not a mechanic at all. PM me and I can walk you through it on the phone if you want.

Also, mark your clutch cable position with a sharpie or something so you will get back to your original setting when you tighten the clutch cable back up.

Another thing...buy some extra snap rings, there cheap and they like to fly off when you remove them, they usually get tweaked a bit too during removal.

Piece of cake as already stated. I bought Trigger Levers on ebay for under $50 and I get alot of compliments on them.
