I live in So. CA by Bartells and I went there a month ago to see new bikes. The Night Rod is a killer looking machine and felt very good under my butt, the size and controls I mean.
Anyhow, is this a good machine?

I'm entertaining the idea of a Night Rod myself. Intend to try one out when I get out to my dealer's the first nice day we get. I'd ride it anytime, but they don't like to let em out in nasty weather, and that means another month or so around these part's. My only concern is the seat height. By the looks of it in pic's, it's to low for me. I'll have to see if they have a "tallboy" saddle.
What about the engine and other mechanical things on the NR?
I would check out the v-rod forum here and see what v-rod owners are saying, and see what issues they have. They're a different beast than most Harleys. Some may argue this, but reportedly better front brakes and more nimble handling, and a water cooled engine.
Here's my$02 worth. I was abut to do the deal on a nt.rod when I sat on it one last time and noticed my right heal totally missed the guard and rested on the muffler . that will melt the **** out of your boot . other than that the rod series are great bikes they are the fastest and best handling line that h-d offers. good luck, mike
