Alright we have had a lot of doom and gloom and assless chaps threads lately,so lets wake this b*t*h up.Lets hear about the wildest most fun trip/rides ever. You know the ones youtalk aboutto your friends over and over till something new happens.
Not on a Harley (so I don't know if it counts), but there were 4 of us who met to go ride on a Saturday morning. All on Sportbikes.
We met-up at 6:45am for a 7:00 start. We decided that we need a good breakfast - and thought Denny's would be good. We left the meeting spot in South St Louis County - and ended-up at Denny's in Columbia, MO.
It was 121 miles, and we got it done in 59-minutes. That was a fun ride.
For those of you who know that area... Hwy 70 has somewhat of a switchback around Wright City - we took that at about 145-150 with footpegs grinding. Sometimes it surprises me that I made it this long.
this year going to Daytona 161/2 hours in the rain but a very good ride, 7 guys and a four day weekend. The worst day I ever had riding still beats the best day I ever had working and I really liked my job.
Couple years back, solo trip to Yakima for the State HOG rally - which I skipped once I got there. I've always called Yakima "a destination destined to be blown off." Before I left town I did check out the traveling Vietnam memorial wall, which was actually a moving experience. The seemingly endless names, all lost loved ones to someone, give you chills.
I headed south to the Columbia river and west towards Portland. It was 106 degrees, so I got down to a t-shirt and leather vest, still hot as he!!. Screwy hot and slooow trip up and down I-5 trying to get through Portland, and finally off towards the coast. Hot as I was, when I crossed the five miles over the bridge from Astoria into Washington, I was freezin! Met my wife in Long Beach and we had - umm - a good time in a motel overlooking the beach.
I've had longer, more interesting trips, with close encounters and family visits etc, but this trip always seems to come to mind. Maybe cause it offered the variety - dry high desert of Washington, open back roads, busy freeways, lush Oregon forests and finally the ocean. Then again, maybe it was The Wall.
Last summer myself and 3 brothers along with a few nephews and a niece decided on a whim to go toMiami, Oklahomafor a poker run. 600 miles one way, left on Friday around 4pm.1400 miles later we were home Sunday 4pm. 74_ironhead was the only one that came home with money, 400 bucks worth. Pics taken at a bar called the Rockin' Armadilla. In a town called Monkey Island.Had a blast.
