Default Motorcycle Cover While On Trip?

So how many pack a cover a use it when you're on the road and staying at a motel?A long time ago I did a few times but not any more. I just keep it insured, try to park right in front of the room, lock it, and just wipe the rain or dew off the seat in the morning.

The little topper type covers, pack up small but don't hide or cover the bikeall thatwell. The full coverage covers, hide and keep the elements off but are as bulky as a heated jacket liner. And let's face it, we're *riding* the motorcycle through the road dirt and rain, how's a little dew or rain falling on it at night going to hurt it?Plus if you do cover it, the next morning you have a wet cover to deal with.

Covered or not, thievescan just jump out of their truck and throw a motorcycle in the back and leave, taking all of 30 seconds. Some feel therecould be some security benifit in that thieves would avoid a fully covered motorcycle because they wouldn't know what kind is under the cover. But then I see a lot of covers with a Harley Davidson logo on them.

Always. Keeps it cleaner, drier, and maybe a little less tempting at night.

Can one of those cables be cut with bolt cutters?

I like the Suzuki Cover Idea! That is a good one. Maybe slap Boulevard on the side of the cover as well.

I carry a cheap car cover for the smallest car I can find when I travel, I have a Harley cover but I dont like to put a label on my bike. The cheap car cover looks like $h1+ on the bike so hopefully it would throw off potential thieves, it still helps keep the rain and dust off, they come with thier own crappy little stuff sack which I just bungee down when I go, I use the same bungees to hold the cover on the bike. No fuss no muss. I also carry a padlock that I lock through the one of the holes in the rear disk. And I always try to park in front of my motel room.[&:]

I don't carry any cover but if I'm worried about my bike getting stolen at a motel I will ask the front deak guy if I can park under the canopy at the front entrance. If I am still worried I will take a $20 bill and tear it in half and give him half and tell him he gets the other half in the morning if the bike is still there untouched. Seems to work.

Aerostich Riderswearhouse makes a great lightweight packable cover folds up to the size of a softball. I always bring one with me, more to keep prying eyes off and gives me a sense of security at fleabag motels. Outta sight outta mind, badguys will find an easier target.
