OK. I have an example. After Katrina in New Orleans we were reeling from the blow. Most services out, bad water, no power, no gas. Litany of sadstories.
In come the itinerate workers from many states, many countries. One sticks in my mind. An ol blue panhead looking like it had a million miles on it, sedately headed fora neighborhoodof temporary housingfor workers. It had old bags and stuff tied to it, so much only pieces of the bike stuck out around the edges. This old biker was coming in with everything he owned on a bike that has grown around him - to join the itinerate force bringing New Orleans back up from the muck.

At first I thought it was a joke. Then I realized that it is 25min long and forreal. I actually got into it. The announcer actedreally uncomfortable to start the interview, but seemed to calm down after a few questions. Minute 20would be pretty good for this thread. That was...interesting.
I see some post and replies around that reference a biker wannabe, OK what do you feel you do that makes you a REAL biker ?? I see people making fun of how others dress and act and would just like to know how a "real biker" is supposed to dress & act.
with out reading any of the other replies (because it will all be a bunch of BS) A "real biker" is exactly that... a real biker. someone that actually rides their motorcycle instead of letting it sit in the garage under a cover... that is a real biker!
You know what makes me laugh is how all these "real Bikers" make fun of all the guys on sport bikes that wear full leathers... you know the one's they call "power rangers"... when all these "real bikers" spend 20 minutes "suiting up" in there black leather jacket, black leather crotchless pantaloons, black leather boots, black leather gloves and black leather band ana's...on a 90 degree dayjust to ride 10 miles to a bar...Oh and don't forget your fo leather half helmetnow those guys are fools!
