One, maybe. I definately do not drive under the influence anymore, ever. When I turned 18 I know I did more driving under the influence than sober for close to a year. Never got a DUI but only because I was damn lucky! I won't drive the car or truck after more than 2 or three but it has to have been two or three over several hours and I damn sure won't ride the bike after more than one, period.
19 years ago I promised a Maryland State Trooper that I'd never drink and drive again. He gave me a ride back to my ship instead of throwing me in jail like he should have.
Take it from a recovered alcoholic, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE PERIOD, although I never drink anything stronger than a powerade when riding, granted I will have a beer if I am in for the evening, I use to drink just to have something to do while I was getting drunk, but after my first DUI, I learned a very valuable lesson. I have been off the drinking scene now for about 12 years and I do not miss any of it. Besides I made a deal with myself that if I could quit drinking I could afford a Harley.
When riding solo, limit is one beer for me. Riding two up or in a group, limit is zero beers and I make sure the guys that were drinking are ahead of me when we get back on the bikes. If anyone has had more than two, I make an excuse to not join the pack and I ride in a different direction.
