Default Right hand falls asleep

Right hand falls asleep all the time while riding. I have to keep moving it to keep it "awake". Short ride, long ride, gloves, no glovesdoesn't matter. Help! New grips? More chrome? What think ye?

Thanks in advance

Loosen your grip on the wick and you might try a throttle boss. Change positions with your hands often. If it gets worse you may have to see a witch doctor.

IMHO, you are experiencing 'Carpal Tunnel' nerve damage symptoms. I went thru the same thing. Only an operationrelieved the pain and the 'going to sleep'. Find a Neurological Physician and get checked out. ......... BC

Most likely yer hanging on too tight. Try loosening your grip.

You only need enough pressure on the grip to keep the throttle where you want it.

Could also be the angle of the your handlebars.

If it is carpal tunnel, I would explore every possiblity prior to letting them cut.

It's named 'white hands' aswell, all the vibrations of yer bike is mostlikely the cause.

There is anti-vib devices which you insert in each side of yer bars, seems to help!

I get it too, but on rides over say 20 or 30 minutes... Right hand only. Fingers get numb and tingley. I dont grip too tight and Idon't have carpel tunnel. I flip on the cruise control for a few minutes and flex my hand and give it a rest. I think it has to do with the position/angle or whateverof the hand.

My friend is a chiropractor and said it may be a nerve in the neck or upper back that causes it. I may go see him and see if that eliminates it. I've never had any back or neck problems, but at 44 yrs old maybe i've got something not quite right.

Will let you know if it helps.

Same thing with the hands here. I did have Carpal tunnel surgery this past winter and guess what? My hand still goes numb and looses circulation in the finger tips (only while riding). I think I will try the mechanical changes this time to cure it. It must be pretty common because when we are riding in large groups, I see many other "bikers" pulling their hand off the grip and shaking it. Maybe that's why everyone waves at me?
