If you have been thinking about replacing your old original AGM battery that comes stock in all Models, better go to the dealer now and get it. Just heard AGM is raising their prices due to the cost of lead. Increase is 35%. No change in battery, only price.
I'm not sure about the price of lead but, AGM (absorbed glass mat) is a type of battery construction, not a manufacturer (brand). There is no significant difference in the quantity of lead in a regular battery vs AGM.
batteries have been going up though. I bought a new one last year for the ironhead, $80 I didn't put it on a tender this winter so it was shot [:@] this spring the exact same battery was $109.99 this was for a regular battery, not AGM

Never said there was more or less lead, only that the cost of that lead had increased. MOCO explainthat as the reason. Used AGM as a reference type of battery. MOCO refers to them the same. I though everyone would recognize it instead of East Penn Manufactured AGM batteries. Besides the correct term is Absorptive Glass Mat. I just wanted to post about the price increase.
You can read a ton of threads about batteries, most will come full circle back to the HD AGM stocker. I hit a 20% off night at my local dealer 2 months ago, that coupled with $50.00 in chrome cash and the battery was out the door for under $30.00. I would have taken it with the small discount as the AGM battery is as good as anything else for the price. I think they're made by Deka, so if you could find a Deka battery dealer, you might find one cheaper w/o the HD logo on it.

Sorry, I wasnt trying to start a dispute. Your stentence, "Just heard AGM is raising their prices due to the cost of lead.",lead (no pun intended) me to think you thought it was a brand.
