My Harley is NOT a parking bay!
I've been having some pretty bad luck, but this takes the biscuit! Had my bike parked near my Bro's bike by the side of the road, we're both chatting to our HD mechanic when all of a sudden I hear a pretty loud crash. A bus decided that my bike would look nicer between his wheels, My bike was pulled off it's kickstand onto its right side and dragged along into my Bro's bike. He got off lightly with just a bent rear fender (1996 Nostalgia (it's a bitch to match the paintwork, so got to order fender ready sprayed from HD). My bike..[:@]sadly not so lightly
. I have a bent and scratched front and rear fender, bent exhaust, scratched up mirror, grip, and lever....cracked riser clamp...and my brand new $800 forward controls..down the drain.. There are a few other bits, but I think you get the idea. Anyway now hopefully the insurance will cover all this without a run of their usual excuses, seeing their surveyor tomorrow. Oh and the best part? I think they're going to try screw me for my Bro's fender...I admit..my bike DID hit my Bro's bike, but come on I was a good 10 metres away at the time...and It was DRAGGED along!!

To be fair the driver accepted responsibility, He got out of the bus and saw me, my bro and our mechanic walking towards him...I think he crapped himself.

Better hope the insurance company don't try to total the bike. Had this happen to one of my riding buddy's. His bike was parked and a little old blue hair backe into it. No major damage but just scratched it up. Adjuster came and looked at it and decided it would be best to total the bike. He fought with the insurance company for almost 6 months before they finally settled. Good luck and hope it turns out in your favor.

I'm sure the bus company has excellent insurance. THey should buy you a brand new bike. Get a lawyer if necessary.

As long as your bike was off the road, you shouldn't have a problem with the insurance company. If, however, part of your bike was protruding onto the road, you might have an issue.
