I wear them all the time. They don't block out useful sounds we use for situational awareness as much as I thought they would but they take out the irritating background noise and makes it easier to hear some of the stuff that counts.
I need to get some custom ones. The cheapy foam ones don't work very well. Any suggestions?
I became a believer in ear plugs last year. Best investment I made....Try these "SilentEar" They block out that high decibal pitch of the motor and pipes. The cool thing is you can hear clear as bell when someone is talking to you while you wear them. My 2 cents. they work for me. You can get them online.

"Tinnitus...horrible! It crept up on me and I didn't realize it till it started getting bad. I started noticing it after being around loud noise, the ringing you would normally get for a bit lasted longer and longer and worse and worse".
If your story doesn'tget the attention of noise damage skeptics nothing will. Is there any hope that your tinnitus will ever go away. That sort of thing would drive me up the wall.
I wear earplugs every time I ride. I get those soft foam ones in boxes of 50 or 100 at Lowes/Home Depot/Wal Mart, etc.pretty cheap.
I wear plugs with a full face helmet and I've never felt it hindered me from hearing anything I needed to on the road. Besidesdamaging your hearing, wind noise contributes to fatigue. So I feel they help me ride longer, and I feel better after the ride.
I used to drive a car, with no A/C, and had never ending ear aches. On my Ultra, with a half/Helmit, I've never had any ear aches... I never even considered using them.... What article have you seen or read, making it a good idea... is it legal???
