Now that I hav the bagger and plenty of room I bought a decent fist aid kit with the basics.
What could the basic pack be missing that I might need?
My first thought ws insect sting relief (I was stung by a wasp last year) but it has 3 pads...I don't see anything that could be used as a tunicate but then I always have bandanas.
I carry one that is in a metal case, I'm more concerned with having compresses etc. bug stings is not of concern to me as one can always find a drug store while riding, stopping bleeding has my highest proirty.
throw some aspirin, tylenol or advil in there for headaches and back aches. Basic bandaids, moleskin, an ace bandage (can be used to hold compresses in place)
There is a group that teaches motorcycle first on scene accident management- their web site sells great first aid kits that are more motorcycle accident type injury specific. An 8 hour class but greatly worth it. Try Accidentscenemanagement under google. I think they are based out of Wi or somewhere in the midwest. Our local HOG chapter offered the class a couple of years ago and I took it and bought the first aid kit from them that day. I have had to use it twice since then.
