Just announced. Randy Scott's family settles $35 million dollar lawsuit agains US Gov (that's us, as taxpayers) for a million.
Former governor Janklow ran a stop sign by Trent, SD, killing Mn Harley rider Randy Scott. It was ruled previously that Janklow was "on duty," as he was driving home from an "official function of his office," so the government was on the hook.
If I remember the details correctly Janklow had a bad driving record and wasn't honest about the accident. A million dollars is small consolation for losing a family member but I get your point about tax payers footing the bill.
UNFORTUNATELY, the jack butt got away with yet another debacle. He has a very lengthy history of issues, dating all the way back to when he was 13. Pull a copy of his driving record. But I digress. It is a tragedy that first, Randy got killed. But by a man of his credentials (?), and then to really NOT be held accountable, is the real tragedy to us all. And NOW we have to pay for his doings.
