It seems every time I'm riding with a group of friends (we're all in our 50's) we get these a#@wipes on crotchrockets coming at us doing a wheelie, or hang in the left lane close to us riding a wheelie. They are making it very dangerous on the roads for us. The next time, we may have to take care of that little problem. I don't need some idiot taking me, my wife and friends down if they lose control and come down among us. It's getting worse; every time we ride lately, someone shows how stupid he is. What do you all think? As we said in the Army, police your own ranks. Ride safe everyone; that means you too; crotchrocket riders! Jr.
In their defense,I was young once and it is next to impossible to control the testosterone.Heck, even now I still feel that rush after a lot of years.Make an extra effort to deal with all bikers as long as they are not threatening you.
These guys, off course not all who ride crotch rockets, but quite often like to show off in front of a guy on a Harley. Look at me, look at what I can do. For example, I was by myself cruising between 60-65 on the highway oncewhen low and behold I see from my mirrora rice rocket getting closer and closer to me. Then as he passes me on the left side going 80+ he pops up the front wheel while standing on his pegs and rides the wheelie for about 1/4 mile. What an idiot. Some folks have a death wish.
Its not just crotch rockets.I was getting ride home from car dealership in their shuttle Tuesday and there was a moron on a Dyna alongside.Every stop light he popped a wheelie.3rd stop light the car in front of him had to come to a quick stop,Id quess Mr moron had to go home and change his shorts as their couldnt have been more then an inch between him and the rear bumper.Everyone in the shuttle started talking about the moron and how stupid some motorcyclists are.
If I come across a crotchrocket and I don't know the rider.........he's a punk, I just let them do their thing, give them as much room as I can, because eventually one of those punks are gonna go down or get pulled over by Mr. Copper.
I have a sportbike and ride it often. It makes me feel like a kid again which is a good feeling. Doing wheelies? Not this old guy. Hell, I did a wheelie several weeks ago on a cannondale and ended up in the e.r. I'm still sore from that fall..haha. A buddy of ours with a V-Rod does wheelies constantly and I agree that it's dangerous. I keep my distance because I don't want him taking me down when he crashes, and it most likely will happen!
I've been on HD's for years and I'm in my lllllaaattteee 30's+ I sometimes still feel the urge to get a Hyabusa or one of the other common rockets and go carve up some twisty roads. Then I sit on one and have to pull my right leg up onto the footpeg, let it sit there and have my knee be painful for 20 seconds as a reminder, then I go out and get on my RK. It's h#ll getting old.[&o]

I have a neighbor - kid in his mid 20's - with a crotch rocket. He and several of his friends often congregate at his house before and after rides, so I get to see and visit with them. These guys ride hard - doing wheelies and stoppies at every light, but they are really a great bunch of guys when you talk to them. First time the kid stopped at my house on his bike, I noticed the top of his gas tank was all smashed in and asked how the F he did that. He said he bashed it in with a hammer so it was more comfy when he sits on it and wheelies down the street with his feet over the handlebars. I laughed, and he proceeded to show me. Long story short - I was a kid too some years back and can relate to their riding style. It ain't for me now, but I'm old. It's is refreshing to actually visit with some of these guys and find out that they aren't just a bunch of idiots. They do work on their bikes and we often spend hours in my driveway or his working on the bikes and shooting the breeze. I have been startled a few times by a crotch rocket flying past me in my lane doing over 100 MPH, and have felt like beating the crap out of them (if I could catch them - LOL), but most that I have taken the time to visit with are decent people, just crazy like most of us were as kids.
