Lemon Pledge
I was flying bush planes in Alaska when I was first introduced to Lemon Pledge. Our first concern was how fast rain water could be made to dissipate (run off) off the windshield of the airplane. After several tries of Plexus (the old expensive standby), Pledge and Lemon Pledge, we bush pilots all agreed that a windshield cleaned with Lemon Pledge caused the rain water to run off the fastest. Ihave noticedthat continued use of Lemon Pledge will build up a 'waxy' coating that might yellow slightly over time. The solution was to clean the airplane windshield with 75%/25% warm water and common alcohol once a year and then start over with the Lemon Pledge. Worked like a charm.
I agree that maybe a motorcycle windshield doesn't have to shed rain water to the Nth degree, so maybe Pledge would be the better for motorcycles only. I am so use to using the Lemon Pledge that I use it on my helmet's full face shield also. Also, I can't seem to master filling my Road Glide with fuel without splashing some fuel on the tank. I keep a Lemon Pledge can in the saddle bag with a small piece of old T-shirt. I just spray and wipe and then throw the small piece of T-shirt away. You don't want to keep that gasoline smelling rag in your bag. ....don't ask me how I know [:@]. .............. BC
