For the last 2 weeks I have been getting phone calls(6 aday)from an 866 exchange(I don't answer 800-866 phone calls) so I finally pick it up and its eagle bank(hd-finance)they guy asked me the usual BS about address,is the bike still at said address etc, blah, blah.I have never missed a payment since I bought the bike,he said a late fee was applied to my account back on JAN-08 and it needs to be paid, since I am making the normal payment the late fee is now past due,so for 2 weeks and about 84 phone calls to my house and however much they pay those phone people, they wanted that late fee, ready? $5.46!!!!!!thats right,$5.46,if Harley is that desprate to get my 5 bucks they must be in real trouble.I called my buddy that works at the YORK plant and told him he better start looking for a new job!!!! lol!
Ummmm...... lets say HD finances 100,000 bikes a year and half of those folks owe a $5.00 late fee. That's $250,000.00 in outstanding late fees. Let's stretch that out over the last 5 - 7 years (the life of an HD loan) Sounds like over a million bucks in $5.00 late fees to me.
I have had no problems with eaglemark on my loan, I agree with the guys above, pay your bills and don't title a thread that harley is going bankrupt, sounds as if you need to put your own name in there deadbeat.
I've never had any problems with Eagle/HD either. In fact last year when I WAS late on a payment they were more than willing to work with me to get it caught up and get everything straightened out.
That's a little odd too, if it were that important why didn't they leave a voicemail about it? Hell they could even do an automated one (everyone else seems too, even Blockbuster!)
I just fail to see a legitimate complaint there, or by any stretch of the imagination reason for the title of the thread...send 'em the money, and don't pay late again...

If I owed you $$$, I bet you'd be on the phone. It may only be a few bucks, but the late fee is peanuts compared to the possible effect on your credit rating that will adversely impact future financial transactions. An extra 1% on a 30 year, $150,000 home loan ain't chicken feed ten years down the road.
