My FatBoy feels like that sometimes when I ride on road with Rain Grooves, kinds feels like it's floating on the front. I would'nt call it a wobble though, I've had a bad wobble at 65 MPH and stayed up and on thank God!!!!!!!
OK... Thanks for all the input... Here is what I found so far. Front Tire was 5 pounds over pressure. Tire says 40psi max and it was 45 psi. reduced it to 39psi and took it on the road. Got up to 90 and still felt good. BUT... it was only a short stretch. I have an appointment with the dealer today at 9am so I will ask them to look at it further.
Yes.. It is brand new. I picked it up on Saturday. Have 427 miles now(most of them under 75 mph). Dealer is trying to talk me into doing the first service now. Smart? Not Smart?
Ina review of the Crossbones in American Iron, test riders said it has a pogo stick effect at high speeds. Apparently it has something to do with the front forks if i remember right. They say its nothing to worry about. For whateverthats worth
Springers have a wishie-washie front end as a general rule.
That's horsecrap. I owned a Springer and it was tight as a drum. Better than many standard gas shock type front ends I've owned.
I would take it to the dealer but 1st check tire pressure.......My 06 Deluxe wobbels between 40-30 while slowing downwith my hands off the bars....
Springers are noted to have neckbearing issues, thats why you need to re-seat after 5,000 miles and replace 10-15 thou and if you ride hard or not so nice roads the neck bearings go out faster....And thats no bull...This is why I didn't buy a Heritage Springer when they came out and what has kept me from adding a Cross Bones to my collection......
If ya have nice roads, rideeasy go for the springer, isn't so for me....
