I just purchased a CrossBones the other day and have a question about the ride. Bare in mind that this is my first Harley but not the first one I have ever ridden. My experience so far has been that my bike rides wonderful up to about 75 mph. After that I get very uneasy as the front feels unstable. It does wobble as much as it just does not feel planted. A friend mentioned to increase the dampening on the front shock to try to eleviate the problem. Said it may keepit planted better. I was wondering if any one else has had a similar experience with any springer front end and how did you correct the situation?
Check your tire preasure or make some changes to it. Play around with the suspension like your buddy mentioned.
I had the same issue with my Street Glide I added some air to the rear shocks (baggers have air shocks in the back) moving the center of gravity foward, adjusted the tire preasure a bit and voila fixed. Hope it's that easy for you too...
Dealer is useless IMO when it come to that kind of stuff. I test rode a bike and it wobbled and shook so bad at just 30 MPH, I was litteraly scared, and I've been on bikes my whole life. I told them I did'nt like it, that there was something wrong with it and told them what it was doing, and when they rode it, they came back to me and outright lied to my face, and said they did'nt notice anything wrong.

my wideglide did same thing lowered back and changed springs and lowered front, but big change came with changing tires to metz, and getting those crabby duns off, of course i have a 21 wheel which is more prone to that than your fat tire, but dealer will just say do speed limit (duh)
I still stand by what I said about getting the dealer to check it out if you only bought it the other day. At least then you are covered from that stand point. Could be that your front wheel lost one of its weights and needs balancing - I wouldn't have thought the tyres are the culprit other than if the pressure's way off.
However having said that, I wasn't altogether happy with the handling of my scoot at first being that I am a heavier built fella. So I put Progressive 412s on the rear to stiffen it up a bit and give me greater flexibility on adjustment as they have 5 stettings over the stock Harley shocks having 3. I also added Progressive front fork springs to balance it out a bit as the stock config. was just a bit too bouncy for my liking as Iprefer a stiffer more responsice ride.
