you ever heard of a break in procedure? You don't own a crotch rocket, you own a cruising bike. My night train will cruise all day long at 75 and 80 without so much as a wobble or anything, something is wrong, take it back.
I don't understand the reason to go 75 plus mph its a cruiser if your going 80mph and something comes up in front of you your toast also remember that springer is a heavy bike with a single piston front brake.
not to mention if its a new, i dont think thats what HD has in mind for the break in period.
The Springer front end need's to be serviced at 500 miles and then at 2500 miles and every 2500 miles after that. Thats for the checking the head bearing and lube, also the bearings in the rocker arms. Just had mine done at my dealer (Cowboy Harley, Austin Tx) and it cost me $37.
I would think that having to much air in the front tire (check manual, my FLSTSC runs 36psi front and rear) and setting tall in the high saddle with mini apes would catch a lot of wind at higher speeds making the front end lighter.
