I was at my dealer today, set appointment for dyno and 1000 mile service; dyno man said he really likes to see at least 2000 to 2500 miles on a bike before dyno and what he recommends to all is customers that he will dyno the bike at 1000 miles but only up to 4000 RPM + - range and will make sure its running rich enough in the higher RPM’s then once I get in the 2000 to 2500 mile range he will re-dyno complete at no charge of course.
This sounds ok to me for the simple fact it shows me this guys has concerns for his customers new bike. What do you guys think of this? I would like your opinions.
Also had interesting conversation regarding them new injectors and the bulletin MOCO put out. I simply ask him what he thought if a guy was on a bike 2 months old and sitting at a red light on a busy street and the light turned green and when he went to roll out the bike cough, spit and almost died and a impatient driver behind him came with in inches of hitting the back of the bike after slamming on the brakes. Well to my amaze he replied funning you say that cause I just got off the phone from calling some of his customers and letting them no they had received this bulletin about replacing the injectors on the 06 bikes; he shows me the bulletin and walks outside to look at my bike and says to me “yup you got the 08 injectors. I said what does that mean? He said it means he will have a set of new injectors waiting for my bike when I bring it in for dyno and 1000 mile services.
So I thank him for his time and ride off with a smile. Now that is what service is all about.
RE: CVO injectors, Dyno tune at 1000 mile services.
If every dealer would or could be like that, even in the auto industry I think many people would be very happy. I'm an auto tech. and when I do a job I put everything in my job. Because I want to think that it is my vehicle (bike or auto) that I'm working on.
RE: CVO injectors, Dyno tune at 1000 mile services.
My dealer said the same except he said you can dyno at 1000 to 1500 (but never before) and there is usually no noticible change afterward. I may just wait until Winter lay up to do my full Stage 1 with cvo injectors. Everybody keeps telling me to wait past 2000 miles just to make sure you are fully broken in.
