Test Rides
 \\; \\; \\; Hey guys,
I had a question. \\; I am selling my HD and obviously people are going to want to ride the bike, which, any sane person should. \\; My question is what if they lay it down or get in an accident, our insurance wouldn't cover the bike. \\; What do you do to ensure you don't get screwed by a potential buyer. \\; I thought maybe coming up with a waiver saying they will take full responsibility of the bike if something should happen. \\; Any ideas? \\; What have you done in the past with bikes you have sold?.
thanks
kevin

if a ride is wanted a deposit of the full asking price is retained by me, if they wreck it I would let the local stealer repair it and figure the deminished value and return any unused portion the the prospective buyer, or he gets the damaged bike and I get his money, his choice.
never let anyone ride it unless they buy it, offer money back after the test ride if they are not happy. The only thing they should be verifing is that it runs well not if they like that style bike, you are not a dealership with free test rides, this is how most people sell bikes.
i didn't ride the last three bikes before i bought them. \\; state farm won't cover another state farm rider on a bike that is not their insured bike even if the owner is state farm insured.
