Default HD: Screw You!!

On one bike I've counted not less than FIVE different types of screw head:
Allen
Hexagonal
Phillips
Torx
Triple-square (XZN).

Add to this that, living in Italy, I have metric tools, and need to buy specific tools in inches for certain heads such as allen and hex.

Couldn't the MOCO choose ONE standard head type and keep to that!?

They are going to do that.
It is scheduled to happen at the same time that every other manufacturer of motorcycles and automobiles reduce their production to only 1 model with one size fastener holding it together.
I would suggest you sell all of yours and wait for this event.

Yes!&nbsp\\; Marketing has come up with a new product... It's the new "Screaming Eagle Same Style Fasteners Option".&nbsp\\; Costs $489. for the basic stainless set, or $729. for polished chrome, or $811. for skulls.&nbsp\\; Most dealers will install the set for $350.&nbsp\\; And, the best part:&nbsp\\; you can get an extended warranty on the set for just $199.

I can take 95% of my YAM YZF250 apart with either a 8,10,12,or 14mm socket/ wrench but then again its a dirtbike not a street machine.
