Wife and I are taking off for six days over the first weekend in October. Planning on flying to a location and renting a bike. We want to stay in one location and take day trips for scenic rides. Looking for locations that meet these requirements and offer a good chance of decent weather.
It would be great to hear ideas for locales. Either places you've visited or live.
July and August are the warmest months. \\; September can be on the cool side in the evenings but comfortable during the day. \\; Also in Sept. the fall colors are out which make our canyons absolutely beautiful. \\;
Keep in mind it can be 90-100 degrees in the Salt Lake Valley and be 60 degrees or cooler at elevations with rain/sleet even in the warmest months.
Fly to Reno, Nevada. \\; Reno Harley is a fly-an-ride dealer. \\; Take day trips to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra's to all the old gold rush towns. \\; Nice day rides that time of year and it's beautiful.
What's with you guys? The world doesn't end at your shores y'know. Try flying overseas and renting a bike.. How about the rugged Scottish Highlands, The French/Italian alps, The Meditteranean coast, Australia's vast surf &\\; New Zealands openness.
 \\;
Try spreading your wings to the reast of the world..
