Default Regarding your server problem

I asked our computer tech at work that fixes all our school's computers and like I thought, he said that it's your server that's not working well. He said if the forum is out of whack that means that the server of the person that takes care of HDForums.com (the admin) basically isnt working. All you have to do is call the host or the company that is supplying your server to help you out to fix it. All this to say that I am sure you already know that. And if you dont, well now you do. We had the same problem at our school and that's all had to be done.

ciao ciao

I'm sure the computer "expert" at your school knows all about what software is running this forum.

Lanny, this site is hosted by mzima.net, the largest and baddest hosting company in the world. They are near LAX.

They were hacked. At first I thought they didn't know what they were doing, but they had so many sites hacked in such a bad way that it's amazing we're still running at all.

Be patient. They are just humans working through a mess.

yeah, and its some kind of php forums software running on, what is likely an Apache server (but since it was hacked, maybe a MS server), and I bet it is using MySQL for the DB... and my network guy told another network guy, that he could fix this if only he could have the dbadmin password
&nbsp\\;
blah blah blah. - it is real easy to fix if you don't give a crap about the data.&nbsp\\; Read the update posted a couple days ago... they know what the problem is, and how to fix it, but it's touchy because they don't want to lose the tons of data.&nbsp\\; If Terry didn't CARE, the site would probably be fine now and there would only be a couple hundred posts instead the the hudreds of thousands.

Microsoft IIS 6.0. Located El Segundo, CA. IP 67.201.16.45. IIS = Microsoft internet information server, jfyi.

Edit: They do run some Apache&nbsp\\;servers for other forums and they were hacked too. The main IB servers are Apache. The DMZ is Apache. HDForums is Microsoft IIS.

Although it is running IIS, it could have just as likely been running Apache. In fact, IIS has a much better track record in this regard as Apache.

Regardless, somewhere there is a sysadmin who should be looking for a new line of work.
