If you bike is ready to go and your credit card or bank account has sufficent balance available, yes. There are plenty of motels, gas stations and food establishments on or near Route 66 such that you are never in danger of being stranded.
My wife and I were in Winslow last December between Christmas and New Year's, driving our daughter's car to California. \\; Of course, she flew. \\; Anyway, it was the coldest place on earth trying to get a picture on that corner. \\; And I thought Arizona was supposed to be warm!
It's all altitude. \\; Winslow, \\; Flagstaff, Prescott are all in the mountains, \\; it snows there. \\; Kingman, Bullhead City, Phoenix are all in the desert, \\; VERY hot.

Wife and I have run 66 through California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. \\; Have fun, enjoy the nostalgia. \\; AAA makes a good plastic map of the whole route, \\; and there are lots of web sites. \\; It is a shame that California does not maintain Rt. 66 like everyone else does.
