Crap! Day 6 of my East Coast trip. Doing a visual inspection this morning and I found a HUGE dent in my front fender. I had a tool pouch hanging there and all I can figure is that a big bump we hit (I remember a few) caused the tool bag to slam into the fender. I have moved the bag but it will be expensive to fix. If that is all I have to gripe about after 5 days and 1200 miles, then I am a lucky man indeed.
I THINK IT WAS A WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO PUTS A TOOL BAG ABOVE THEIR FENDER, THOUGHT THAT WAS OBVIOUS!
 \\;
CHECK EBAY FOR A TAKE OFF FENDER. \\; OR EVEN GO TO A PAINTLESS DENT REMOVAL PERSON. \\; MY BUDDY HAD A NICE DENT IN HIS TANK FROM THE TURN SIGNALS, HE POPPED THAT OUT IN NO TIME, ONLY THIS DENT HAD A CREASE IN IT SO WE WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE THE TANK FOR HIM TO GET THAT OUT. \\;
I bumped my fender in a parking garage and put a "minor" dent in it. Thought it was minor until I went to the parts counter. Plan on around $350 for a color-matched fender. \\; I bent the front end and tried to bend it back but just couldn't get it flush enough - no paint damage though. I put a UC bumper and light on the front. \\; if anyone needs a Pewter Pearl front fender just PM me.
BWAHAHAA! No...not laughin at ya...laughin with ya...did the same thing recently. Usually keep a tool roll in a saddlebag...wanted to free up all the space I could for our \\;ride to Maine...found the damage after we got up there. I DID check clearance after strappin it on...but, like a dimwit, didn't take into consideration the compression of the forks from just gettin on the thing. Didn't break any paint so rust won't be an issue...gonna leave it there and call it character...or more accurately, \\;evidence of the stoopid **** I can do sometimes.
