Default Back ordered detachable sissy bar kit

&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\; I ordered an essentials kit 96355-08 which contains all of the parts required for the detachable sissy bar and luggage rack for my 2003 Road King Classic.&nbsp\\; I can’t believe it has already been 2 weeks and it will be another week before it comes in to my local dealer.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I was real surprised when the guy in the parts dept said that since these kits don’t fit the 2008 RKC’s they don’t stock them.&nbsp\\; Apparently HD doesn’t either.&nbsp\\; Does this surprise anyone?&nbsp\\;

you know what? looking back, i wish i did not&nbsp\\;get the essentials for my fatboy. the backrest, although a comfortable bucket, just did not fit the bike. i have since changed to a smaller one that looks much better. Also, in retrospect, i should of ordered the shorter tinted detachable windshield instead of the nostalgia one that came with the essentials.
&nbsp\\;
you are getting no bargain with the essentials kits harley puts together for the different models. if you add up the pieces separate its still the same price. so really take a look at it and make sure the kit fits the bike best for you.

If my dealer doesn't have a part he will call other dealers until he finds it. I assume your dealer does the same ?
