Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Bryan Martin said Breezeâs black Harley-Davidson Electra Glide came around a curve and went wide, and possibly his foot rest hit the pavement, which threw him into a 3- to 4-foot ditch on the opposite side of the road.
Very sad and I feel so sorry for the family. From wonderful vacation to tragedy, in ten seconds.
I find that when on my Harley Davidson I just must slow down when in tight corners due to lack of cornering clearance. Too bad because the bikes could corner a lot better if they'd just raise them up a little. But that might hurt sales, I read of some owners actually lowering theirs!
What a terrible, terrible tragedy. \\;
 \\;
That road is extremely dangerous, and no words can explain the amount of caution that it requires. \\; I ride it AT THE SPEED LIMIT and even then it is dangerous if not respected and attention is not given. \\; Not saying the guy was going too fast, just trying to say that the road is complicated even at legal speeds.
 \\;
Sooner or later....there's going to be something RADICAL done up there to stop the excessive speeds and accidents that are happening. \\; It's a crying shame that it is getting so much attention in such a bad light. \\;
 \\;
I have heard from pretty reliable sources that the State is considering banning motorcycles and semis from the road altogether. \\; I don't think that is the answer. \\; But if EVERYONE doesn't learn to behave themselves and get all of the bad attention off the road, some things are going to be done that none of us are going to be pleased about.
 \\;
Once again, sorry to hear about the rider's death. \\; It must be awful for the entire family.
You can raise the boards on a bagger,, we rode the Dragon back in June,, Dean's boards on his Heritage were scraping hard every corner and he didn't go down, but it could happen,,, speculation at best, probably he was just going too fast for his riding skills. Condolences to his family and friends.
Well, either you're going to have a high sitting cafe racer, or you're going to have a low rider cruiser. \\; One bike design can't fit all riding conditions for optimum performance. \\;
 \\;
It's unfortunate that this guy got into a situation that was beyond his riding ability. \\; He paid for that mistake with his life and his family will continue to pay for that mistake in their grief. \\;
 \\;
Ride safe guys.
Kind of makes you wonder if he was trying to keep up with another rider or trying to impress a group he may have been riding with.
I know my limits. Dirt bikes \\;taught me that other riders are better than I am. Riding with a group, I don't try to stay with the rabbits or in the back with the turttles. I just say somewhere in the middle with the competent riders that are just enjoying the ride. \\;Riding solo I'll take my bike to the edge of my comfort zone. Riding double, I try to keep it in the middle of my wife's comfort zone. It's amazing just how wide her comfort zone is now that we have the V-rod.

 \\;
Most likely heart failure due to trauma. \\; Of course, it's hard to say without knowing his medical history. \\; If there was a coronary situation that existed previously, the trauma from the impact and possible other injuries could have caused the heart to seize. \\; If he was on medication there is also the possiblilty of a blood clot. \\; Hard to say without having a history on him. \\; Accidental loss of life is a terrible thing....no matter the cause.
