SAND !
I wondered if I had thought about it and could have reacted quicker, if I could have powered it on through it or if that would have made it worse. \\; No damage to the bike, and I was able to ride away, so I think that I did OK, but DANG....I HATE SAND!
 \\;
- every bag on the rode is filled with broken glass
- every board on the rode has nails in it
- under every puddle on the rode is a pot hole
 \\;
and i might add to that
- any road service which is not completely obviously tractional cement is a wet, slippery, gravel, \\; sand filled accident waiting to happen.
 \\;
when you think of all the things on the road surface or even kinds of road surface that can be real bad
- hot tar
- wet paing
- sand
- gravel
- oil
- gas
- slippery blacktop
- cracks
- holes
- mud
to name just a few
 \\;
seems like care should be taken on anything that just doesn't look quite right, especially on a road, driveway, turn, that appears to be underused or used only at slow speed - thus not allowing the junk to get brushed aside
 \\;
went for a 12 hr - 450 mile ride thru IL and IN - near turky run park - over the weekend - and went on a lot of back roads that had some gravel at every intersection as well as all kinds of other interesting road surfaces. \\; tended to take those turns with a bit more care than others on a more traveled road.
