My wife rode on the interstate for the first time today. \\; She did well. \\; I rode in front of her and we went about 4miles from one exit to another and then back again. \\; Stopped for lunch and then rode another 14 miles on the Interstate. \\; She is planning on riding to Cody Wy in two years and she has been riding for a little over a year. \\; I am proud of her but I am also very concerened for her. \\; Thanks for listening.
Good job. She will be okay. I think that riding on the interstate is easier than riding in the city. Easier to keep your distance and its a smoother ride.
Congratulations to the wife. I get nervous when mine drives on the interstate as well. But Chuck is right, interstate is probably safer. Congratulations though, major accomplishment. \\;
I'd rather ride 1,000 miles on an Interstate than 10 miles in stop and go city traffic... \\;
 \\;
But then again, I'm not a 'city person' in the least.. \\;
 \\;
I got my license in April, and in May my husband took me out on a local freeway that has light traffic. \\; I think we went about 6 miles each way. \\; A little freaky to ride 65 for the first time on a motorcycle, but fun once you get the hang of it!
 \\;
Good luck to your wife, and stay safe!

Southpaw Super Glide: A Left-Hand-Drive 1979 Harley FXE Built to Fit the Rider
My wife \\;has been driving for about 35 years , but she went a long time as " a backrest " .. Then around 1990 we bought her an '81 Ironhead Sporty .. She put some miles on it in no time , she eventually got rid of it for a couple years , then got a 95 Hugger ..
 \\;
Somewhere in between those two bikes , everytime we would go riding , she would lean over and say I know I can drive this bike ( a bagger FLTC ) , this went on for a few months .. Then one day we were \\;riding with our riding partner , and I had \\; enuff ..
 \\;
I motioned Bill to pull over , he asked what was wrong , I didnt say a word , put the bike on the jiffy , left it running , walked over to him and said lets go , I hopped on with him and left her there , we got about 100 yards up the road and this red streak blew past us ..
 \\;
She said later her only concern was the traffic lights after we got off the interstate , 5 foot 3 and 130 pounds soaking wet with two big rocks in her pocket ..
 \\;
Sure I worry about her , but hey I think it's the neatest thing in the world for your wife to be a driver too .. Keep on encouraging her .. It's great ..
