OK, So I bought my 08 Fat Bob used, picked it up in Houston at a BMW dealership...
The 1st owner bought te extended service plan through H-D and gave the card to the dealer for tranfering it...(Its CNA national Warranty Corporation in Fla.)
I was told to call the 800 number on the back and switch it to my name...
So i call them \\; and get told that because i boughtthe bike from a non-Harley dealer and not from the 1 st owner that the warranty is no longer tranferable. Could this be true? I thought that it would go to the bike not who sold it... I mean $$$ was paid for the plan, it should cover who ever has the bike, dealer or not...
 \\;
Any thoughts or help in this for a new guy????
 \\;
 \\;
Just a thought but,
 \\;
1) Find out the original owners name, wait a few days and then call them back and tell them you bought the bike from the original owner.
 \\;
2) Have the original owner contact them and cancel the policy and give you the refund.
 \\;
3) Ask for proof in writing that it must be sold thru a Harley dealer.

They're being dicks about it, but I can somewhat see their point. Since the bike isn't at a HD dealer, or the original owner, they're worried the BMW dealership couldn't make sure there was nothing wrong with the bike before selling it. And, I guess there's always a possibility of the dealership sabotaging the bike, costing them money, or trying to get you to buy a beemer next time.
And therein lies the problem. It's not a HD warranty plan, it's written by an insurance company. You're going to have to find a way around the problem, or purchase another plan.
