Default ? about buying a bike at long distance?

Im looking everywhere for a 09 vivid black street glide and cant find one at any dealer within 200 miles of here. I found some at dealers about 300 miles away but was wondering how many trips it would take down there to get all the paper work and stuff done. Is there any way they can fax me the information or something for i only have to make one trip to pick the bike up?

Can a dealer near you do a trade for the bike? Have you asked that? If not I did everything right then and there, but I had my own financing. I assume it is the same though, I bet you can walk in, sit down and sign the life away lol then ride off.

as long as you have the cash/financing already available, there is really no reason that you would need more than one trip. I'd call in advance with all of your information so they can have the paperwork ready, have your insurance lined up and the financing info available (if you financed on your own instead of thru them.) I've always been able to buy bikes/cars in a single trip, should be no different for you...

Take ALL the paperwork required for YOUR state and get it completely filled out, notarized, etc. Find out what your state requires and get all those things taken care of while you're there, otherwise you will have some hassle at your DMV when you go to transfer it. Ask me how I know... They probably won't let you ride the bike away without proof of insurance, and they may not even let you haul it away. It would not be wise to take possession of it without insurance. Check all the states you will be riding back through, assuming you will ride it home, for helmet laws if you don't normally wear one. If you don't have your motorcycle permit/license you may want to get that before you go pick up the bike.

I live in Va. drove down to Florida and in about 1 hour left with a new scoot. One trip should be enough.

I live in Louisiana and I bought a bike in Wisconsin. I borrowed the money from the bank. They contacted the dealer and the two parties worked out all the paperwork. I went to bank signed papers and the dealer sent me papers through the mail, I signed them and sent them back.....

Oh yeah, I am having the bike shipped to me...
