Have done it several times with auto and bike. No itinerary, no planned route--all I usually have is a general area I want to get to before I turn around and head home. I use most of my vacation days doing just this sort of thing.

I'm going to this summer, maybe I'll go around sturgis and go right past loop through colorado and wyoming and come back to the ralley

I think about it more and more these days....sometimes can't keep my mind on work. I read Hog Tales and of I go in my mind to every place they write about. I hope to take a decent long ride this summer but it still won't be the kind I would really like to take...just ride and stop anywhere at any time. I wanted to do this since I saw Easy Rider back in 74-75.
