LOL... It just got back from it's 5000 miles service!

Sorry... I should have made the topic "Got my pipes installed."

I'll tell ya what... I think one of the reasons the bike performs better now is just because the pipes don't weigh as much as the stock ones! I just pulled the stock ones out of the van and DANG they are heavy.

I just got mines out of the shop today also so I know how you feel. I got the Rhineharts 2-1's, PCIII, and Stage 1 upgrade. I was told that I am the first in the area to have the Rhineharts 2-1's. Man do they sound great, not too loud, not to soft. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Can't wait to show em off!

Beatiful bike.
Thanks! Though... I need to stop reading this board...

I got my 5000 mile service done to my bike while it was in. They used Syn3 in all three holes and to "listen" to TC I just put the first nail in the bike's coffin.

<off topic>

So... The whole GEAR oil vs. ENGINE oil thing... Dunno. I have a 5 speed in one of my cars that uses mobile-1 syn for the tranny. If you notice most mfg do not call it oil anymore... they call it lubricant. GM has been putting "engine" oil in their trannies for about 10 years now. And believe me... I drive the crap out of that thing.

So when I went in to get the service done I specifically asked about the syn3 in all three holes thing. They said that it was not a problem... I even specifically asked about the tranny... Still they said no problem. Now keep in mind that I bought 3 years of oil changes ahead of time... So they really are not making money off of me. Heck... I am actually coming out ahead so far. And I could have kept dino-oil or put syn3 in... I chose the syn3 cause I use synthetics in other cars. So... the arguement that a lot of people use AGAINST the syn3 is that the moco is trying to just get more money out of you. Well heck... it would be cheaper for the dealer to have talked me into sticking with dino-oil since it was already paid for.

When I went to get these mods done I had thought long and hard about the SERT Vs. the PCIII... Harley is the one that pushed me towards the PCIII and NOT the SERT. So if their soul objective in life was to push HD product... why not push the SERT?

The other thing is that people keep saying that HD even says not to use Syn3 in all three holes for the 06. Where do they say that? I am not being adversarial... I really want to know! I have been looking EVERYWHERE... and aside from other forum boards I am just not finding it. Is it in the manual? I need to go find mine to look.

And what about the people that have trouble finding neutral? I have NEVER had that problem. Maybe if I was trying to go from second to neutral while coasting to a light... But I don't do that... I will actually shift all the way to 1st and once I am completely stopped I will go to Neutral.

Anyway... I also have the extended warranty on the bike... With the amount of miles I am putting on this thing I would think that I would hit failure before the warranty was up (yes I do a lot of miles). Anyway...Whatever floats your boat, right?

</off topic>

Back on topic... Anyone ever have a pipe job done and then hear like a.... sweeping? sound when idle? I am not sure how to describe it. it sounds like something is brushing. I am guessing I am just hearing something from the motor... Just never heard it before. Sounds cool as heck... Just did not know what it was.

If the "sweeping" sound is synchronous with the RPM, you might have an small exhaust leak. Installing an exhaust is pretty easy, but getting the smaller exhaust leaks tracked down and eliminated sometimes takes a few tries.

I keep thinking that it isn't running very well... And then I look down at the Speedometer and see that i am hauling @$$.... I just took it out to get some gas and it is running really good. Not sure if the PC is helping, hindering, or what... but so far so good.
