I used to have a nieghbor that rode for the Tulsa PD, he loved it. He would get grumpy when the weather changed and he couldn't ride....hmmm....sounds familiar
I saw the Tulsa PD out practicing in a parking lot, they looked like they were having a blast!...Some of those guys are amazing the way they handle the bikes..

I patrol my share of the desert in a Jeep Patrol Unit, but have permission to ride my POV dirt bike on occasion back in to some of the more inaccessible places. I do that about once a month. There are two canyons with washes (arroyos) that are just too hard on the Jeep to clear properly. So that sort of makes me a motorcycle cop! I used to want to do nothing but ride in the desert, now I feel that way about the street on my 1200 Roadster. .............. BC

Our Dept. has three Harley's and they are "assigned" to the Officer's with the most seniority that puts in for them and they keep them until they either give it up or retire so it will be...
a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG (read NEVER here) time before I see one of those.

Wish I did. Chicago has a unit that rides for special events like dignitary escorts, etc. Me? I work in the housing projects by car and on foot sneaking in and out of drug spots. I think a Harley would be too loud to use in covert operations, LOL! [8D]
