I installed the module today. Literally 10 mins. I think it does a great job lighting up the back end. The turn signals are a little brighter than normal but the get alot brighter when you put on the brakes or activate a turn signal. I think is well worth the $50 I spent on it. BTW My hazzard lights work just fine.

Default tail light brake light conversion kit

Yeah I had the old unit HD used to sell and threw it away when my fuse for brakes kept blowing out. Mistakenly thought it was defective and bought the new kit. I definitely think the running lights being on constantly do not make the brake light bright ewnough in daylight. Don't know why they did this when the other was just fine showing up brakes much better. Unfortunately the problem was not the conversion kit but another probelm which turns out was simply a bad bulb somehow blowing the fuse. Not happy I thre the old conversion kit away but oh well. Jusr sshows that you should check everything from wire harness, connectors, actuators before throwing out the unit. Wish i didn't but the problem now is solved with a new brake bulb.

Just curious, but any of you guys with the module running it on an 09 dyna? When i looked at the kury module, it specifically states it doesn't work on the 09 dynas.

Does anyone know if the dual filament lights from a Nighster will work with this module if I used them to replace the stock bulbs on my Softail?
well depends on your turn signal set up. but I doubt it. on the bullet style turn signals only has 1 post on the bottom and the dual filment bulb (1157) needs 2 post on the bottom. not that you couldn't do it but you'd need a new bulb holder and re wire it to take the 1157 bulb..... didn't bother me enough to go through all that work to "maybe" brighten up the brake light more.

I ended up modifying my module to remove the "running lights" feature. Now they only light up when brakes are applied, and/or turn signals.

I think having 3 brake lights come on is a real attention grabber, as opposed to the side lights just getting a little brighter.

Once you've been rear-ended on the freeway at full speed you want to be as bright as possible. I like the additional lights, they really stand out.
