Default Just got back from another h-d factory demo ride

Another fun day at Petersons Harley in MIAMI.....................

UNBELIEVEABLY HOT!!!!

Rode a V_ROD for the first time.........
I should have known something was up with this bike when I went to sign up, there were hundreds of people milling around, all 20 bikes were booked EXCEPT for the V-ROD!

Nice bike, I think this is H-D's answer to the "SPORT BIKE"............
smooth, quiet, liquid cooled............
but the sitting position reminded me of trying to "low-crawl" into a U.S. Army "pump" tent......... DAMN that was uncomfortable!

Who the Hell tersts these things BEFORE production !?!
I just don't get it, but apparently I'm NOT the only one....

The next rider in line after me to ride the V-Rod was a young kid that has a HONDA sport bike..... when he got back I axed for his "review"........
even he didn't like it........sez his HONDA would run all over this V-Rod..... and he was seriously in the market for an '09 bike with an "open" mind.

JMHO, of course, and I am 61 so maybe I'm NOT the target audience!

I test rode one also here back home and did not like the sitting position or the handling. Nice in a straight line but not thrilled with the twisting road handling.

I did the ride at the Mami North store yesterday, 09 SEUC and 09 SE RG, nice but the 110" is weak for its displacement. My kid likes the V Rod, might buy hime one when he gets out of the Army next year, but I keep warning him he wont like it when he gets older.

Uh..... excuse me.....
but could you offer some insight as to why you need to call people a "TROLL"?
Have I offended you in some way?

Nope not offended, But the insight is in the the post you quoted, the other thread was praising honda on a strictly Harley site. (These are your words "Oh, and the ONLY reason I even brought this up is because one of my friends bought a 2009 HONDA VTX1800 and I rode it.....HATE to say it on this forum, but it rode, shifted, performed and "sat" better than than any HARLEY I've ridden.....") this thread makes reference to the perceived superiority of honda. ("The next rider in line after me to ride the V-Rod was a young kid that has a HONDA sport bike..... when he got back I axed for his "review"........even he didn't like it........sez his HONDA would run all over this V-Rod....")
Again on a strictly Harley site. So If I am wrong, I will accept that. But what is the reason to hack On HD on a HD site and praise Honda on a HD site. If I go to a honda site and hack on a Honda and praise HD. how do you think that would look?

Well, if you've looked at the HONDA forum you will certainly see H-D riders talking about the "metrics"..........
I meant no disrespect here, I'm just stating my opinion after riding a VTX and the only Harleys that I have to compare it with is mine, a DELUXE, a ROAD KING that I DEMO'd yesterday and a V-ROD that I DEMO'd today.....
so again, I'm saying I did ride a VTX and it did sit better for my frame and was smoother....now whether thats good or bad I'll leave that up to you, but let's face it, if there were ONLY one bike available for everybody, it would not only be very boring but most of us probably wouldn't ride.
What I intend to do, however, is try to ride the ULTRA or STREETGLIDE.. they look like they're probably a better fit for me.
Everybody has an opinion about every bike and every bike will not satisfy everybody.....
I'm a HARLEY FAN, always have been, always will be!

NOW, I think I'll have a WINE, after watching the DOLPHINS lose their 2nd game.....
I'm sure AUBURN could teach 'em a few tricks!
And YES, I am an AUBURN fan, lived in MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL.
